Become a Friend of CHT

FR Regulator_edited.jpg

Our primary source of income comes from NHS and local authority resident placement fees, which cover our costs and sustain our communities. Any surplus we generate is reinvested to expand our services and support more people who need us.

As a charity, we must fundraise for everything else, from art supplies for art psychotherapy groups to weighted blankets that offer comfort, sensory equipment that can support feelings of calm, and memorable day trips for our residents.

By becoming a Friend of CHT, you will help transform lives.

Your monthly donation - starting at just £3 - will play a crucial role in safeguarding the future of our organisation and expanding our services, helping us to reach even more people who need our support.

By being a part of our community, you will share in our successes and milestones, and we'll keep you up to date with the incredible difference you make through regular e-newsletters and our annual Impact Report. You'll also receive exclusive invitations to special events throughout the year which include online talks on topics relating to mental health awareness and relational practice, as well as celebration events.

A therapeutic retreat to Magdalen Farm

In 2023, twelve residents and four staff members enjoyed a therapeutic retreat to Magdalen Farm in Somerset. Together, they enjoyed activities including orienteering, campfire building with marshmallow toasting, pizza making, wildlife spotting, and animal care. The experience offered an opportunity to learn new skills, enjoy a calming natural environment, engage with others and create happy memories, summarised by our resident Tom, who said;

"Magdalen Farm was a wonderful place - cosy and peaceful. I made new friends and lost all of the tensions I had from city life. The therapeutic atmosphere helped a lot, as much as all of the other therapies I've had since being out of hospital, I will always remember this. Thank you to the staff at CHT and Magdalen Farm, I hope we can meet again in the future.”
